Meet the Star
Who Is Mei Mei?
Mei Mei (妹妹) means “little sister”. She is a small ticked tabby with a bobtail, a very serious little face and enormous green eyes that seem to see straight into your soul.
She started out as a street cat and had a rough start in life. On 15 June 2022 she was adopted from a shelter, and she now shares a home, and plenty of naps, with several other cats.
In December 2023 her owner posted a short video of her being held, set to the Japanese song “Moka-chan Oshiete Kureta Irona Mita”. Her round eyes did the rest: by January 2024 she was all over TikTok and Instagram.
The internet gave her new names, “Tole Tole” and “Vro”, and a clip of her running in her own funny way became a meme of its own.
